Cake Pros Spotlight Welcome to the Cake Pros® Spotlight, where, we'll introduce you to one of our cake pros right here on the Cake Pros Decorators' Club website. It'll be a great chance to learn more about your fellow cake decorators.
Featured Decorator Our current featured cake pro is: Sunnie Guraedy Arrowhead Miracle Mart Minot, ND Sunnie Guraedy has been a professional cake decorator for more than 20 years, but this seems to be her year to enjoy the “sweet” fruits of her labors. First, she was named the 2006 Grand Champion at the Retail Bakers of America 6th annual Creative Decorating Competition in October. Then, in June, she took first place in the 12th annual Cake Decorating Challenge at the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association’s™ (IDDBA) annual seminar and expo, held in Anaheim, CA in June. And, finally, she has been chosen to create a special cake to commemorate the anniversary of the Mall of America in Minnesota. Wow! Sunnie said this was her first time actually participating in the IDDBA competition and she certainly didn’t expect to win. She also says her favorite type of cake to make is “any kind of novelty sculpted cake” because she enjoys the challenge of seeing just how high she can build a particular cake. As a Cake Pros® member, Sunnie says she most enjoys reading in the newsletter about what other decorators are doing. She likes that the newsletter showcases different talents and gives her great cake-decorating ideas. We congratulate Sunnie on a great year of decorating beautiful cakes and for being this month’s featured cake pro.
